Prevent page from being included in the index

Search engine optimization or simply obtaining visitors to your site isn't the goal of every page on your site. As a tether for other sites or just as a requirement for your website's accessibility, these pages must be included.

These sites may be dealt with with a noindex or nofollow, if you follow our blog often. For anyone unfamiliar with these words, I encourage you to read on to learn more about them and see which sites they may apply to!

What is noindex nofollow?

There is a noindex option for a web page that does not want to show up in the search engine's results pages. Links on the page should not be followed by search engine spiders because of the nofollow tag on those links.

These settings may be included in your robots meta tag. In the head part of a website, the robots meta tag is a piece of code. It instructs spiders on how to crawl a page and whether or not it should be indexed.

To use this, add in an HTML section anywhere on your pages, and include this script:
